Whose coat is that anyway

Inspired by Chapter 382's very confusing revelations about the nature of reiatsu and Ichigo's Bankai costume (I mean, it was always obviously a variation on Zangetsu's cloak, but that sleeve just makes it more obvious).

Funny story about this picture: I was done with the sketch layer and it looked pretty darned good, and then I noticed that his hair and cloak were blowing in opposite directions. *facepalm* I'm still not sure the correction works as well, either, but it'll do. Also, epic!hollow!monster!Ichigo was supposed to be looming in the background, but I have NO patience to draw him at this point. >/ If the original Zangetsu-ossan deigns to appear in the manga again, that might change, but if he's really being phased out, it's sad.

Done on Wacom tablet; dunno how many hours -- probably around five to seven, spaced out; this was basically an experiment with the paintbrush and lasso tools, as the airbrush wasn't doing what I wanted it to. Produced a nice ink-line effect; I may be doing more of this in the future.
